Capacitor discharge stud welding
Functional description With this welding process, the energy stored in a capacitor battery is discharged through the ignition tip of the welding elements within the extremely short time of 1-3 ms (0.001-0.003 secs.). Welding aids such as shielding gas or ceramic ferrules are not required.
Range of application Owing to the extremely low penetration depth of approx. 0.1 mm, this method is mainly used for stud welding on thin-walled sheet metals with a minimum thickness of 0.5 mm. No welding traces are visible on the majority of sheet metals. Even thin sheet metals do not show pressure marks, deformations or discoloration on the reverse side (visible side), even if the surface has been plastic-laminated or electroplated.
Possible applications:
*Only for units with automatic kit ________________________________________________________________ Subject to technical changes.
